Our Support Group will be meeting in a new location ! Please leave a comment or contact me directly if you have a preference of time. Available times for new location are , any afternoons except Sunday, and any evenings. We will continue to meet once a month so refer back to this blog for the newest meeting updates.
More news ! I am updating the lending library with new selections. ( See blog achives 2008 it's the only post that is there.) Just as any resources that I offer through the lending library , I do not expect any monetary commitment from you. Please use them as you will . Take what information is helpful and leave the rest . Meeting Will Be Nov. 8,2009
Time :2:00 P.M. Location: Bryant, Arkansas
Once again we will talking about the Explosive Child DVD.
There are so many good insights in this DVD and talking about them amongst ourselves seems to help us remember them when we get home. Books and Videos are helpful and new resources that are helping the ADHD parent of an adult child is always welcome.
In addition to the LOVE and LOGIC Institutes materials books such as Delivered From Distraction have been most helpful.

April Meeting on the 19th.

Our March meeting was very informative and helpful. As members are becoming more acquainted with the parenting skills Love and Logic offers we have more to talk about.
Our plan for the April meeting is to listen to a pod cast from the Love and Logic website and follow with discussion.

Feb. 8 Meeting 2:00 P.M.
We watched the Explosive Child DVD last meeting .
This group is just forming so there were only three in attendance.
I felt that the goal of bringing new and useful information to our group was fully achieved.
If you have an explosive child or if you happen to be an explosive parent , the information on this DVD is helpful.
We will be discussing the information and possibly reviewing the DVD during our Feb. 8 meeting.
I was able to put the suggested ideas to work the very next day .
My goal for my ADHD child is to allow "natural consequences" into her life , for choices she makes.
It was while I watching the DVD on Sunday that I realized what I had been doing that was provoking an explosive reaction from my daughter.
So true to what I had been doing , I did it again on Monday, but this time when she exploded I realised why. So I began using the techniques suggested on the DVD.
The end result was a "win , win situation." She got her concerns voiced and I had my concerns voiced and then we problem solved together until both of our concerns were taken care of.
This was so much better than the way I had been doing before, and I reached my same goal , which is letting her live in a real world .
